Understanding this Institute has a fabulous reputation and great doctors for their eye care. I do expect a wait. Today I waited over two hours to be seen. Knowing patients are waiting they should offer more the old coffee! Water would be nice. That said the Dr and staff were kind. Doing their job no more no less. Bring a good book or a movie to pass the time.

Appointments mean nothing. I mean NOTHING. They book several patients for the same time slot. There were 42 people in the waiting rooms. We waited over an hour beyond our “appointment“ time, but still weren’t called. They simply do not prioritize patients. If your time is valuable to you, go elsewhere, anywhere. Their doctors are top notch which is what’s so sad. You want their skills, but they don’t want you, or they’d fix this longstanding problem. Too big for individualized service. If you don’t care about sitting around for hours, this place is for you.

I was referred by my optometrist office. The office is well staffed and the people are very kind and seem efficient. However, the office is very inefficient. It’s 109. I’ve got here at 10:30 in the morning for 11 AM appointment. This is my third time here and it’s extensive delays every time. Would you find a smaller practice. They’re not capable of maintaining any type of reasonable schedule. The care seems very good. Doctors and stuff are great. But Access is terrible. Very frustrating and difficult to work with

I am able to write this review because of the astute actions of Dr. Rand, Dr. Marino, and other staff members. I went there for cataracts and after numerous tests, they found other problems. Dr. Rand told me to please get a brain scan. I did and a brain aneurysm was found. I have had my surgery and everything is okay now. It is because of them that I was able to have surgery before the aneurysm burst. The wait time can be annoying, but they are so through that they can run behind. You won't get any better care than with them.

I usually give excellent reviews on Restaurants, Hotels, DR'S Offices, HOWEVER, NOT today and for Rand Eye Institute. When you give your patients a 9:15 am appointment, then they should be called in by 9:30-9:45, I walked out at 10:10. One other patient said to me, I guess it's gonna be a 5 hr day, meaning, at times, that's how long to wait. HELLO, NOT ME. VERY POOR SET UP

I’m an RN, I have been one for 50+ years, always working at the bedside in Critical Care. Here’s my 2 cents. When I’m looking for a doctor, I do my homework, I want the best. I don’t care about personality, I don’t care much about wait time in the office. We all have cell phones and books to keep us occupied. I just want to know that whatever they do for me is going to turn out 100%. That’s what I got, just what I wanted. Good vision, no infection, no complications!!!!
I have read that some people find the help un friendly; who cares, not me, everybody has a bad day, especially at a place where so many patients have to be seen, and the intricacies of their exams cannot be foretold,!!! if I have an issue which is unexpected I’m grateful that my PRACTITIONER takes the time to figure it out, and explain it, that takes time. And if I have to wait an extra half hour or hour in the waiting room, because the same thing has happened to the patient before me, I UNDERSTAND!!!
I’m not in an in a restaurant ordering gazpacho which I expect in front of me in 10 minutes, I am in a DOCTOR’S office, waiting for an extremely specialized professional to do an excellent job relative to my needs.
I never go to the doctor, expecting concierge service, cause I know I’m not at a five star hotel, I am at a MEDICAL FACILITY WHERE THINGS HAPPEN. I’VE LIVED IT ALL MY LIFE!! I UNDERSTAND IT, and I’ve tried to explain it to my patients all my life. It’s hard to understand, it’s hard to have reasonable expectations in an age where everything is instantly available! Altering your expectations is crucial in medicine. We don’t know what we don’t know until we know it!!!
RAND IS THE BEST at what it does, and that’s all I want, and that’s what I get. I give it five stars. I have gratitude for a great outcome, and I don’t care about the minutia of how it happened, and I don’t even care about my four hour wait in the waiting room when there was a crisis ahead of me!!!
So sit back, enjoy the experience, bring your cell phone, a good book, and sit patiently until it’s your turn. Advice from a grouchy old nurse. Do you know what they say about old nurses, “old nurses never die they just lose their patience!” And that applies, except when I’m waiting for an expert to help me have my best life, and in this case, my best vision. Many thanks to Dr. David and all his staff. Forever grateful.! Terry

as such a big facility as such I am very displeased with how long my new patient appointment is. I am
currently sitting here writing this review. My appt was at 840 I got called in about 25 mins they told me he will give me some eye drops and have a faculty member bring me to the 3rd floor for testing. To start off the employee was very dry and non communicative and just said “have a seat here.” I got here at 945 and preceded to wait, I completely understand that I am a new patient and these things take time. I seen patients before me het called and left, patients get brought up from the 2nd floor go in and leave and people checking in. Finally at 2 hour mark I go up to the receptionist and inquire about how much longer I would be waiting for she gave me a general answer of it shouldn’t be much longer without even getting my name. I just felt as if they could have kept me in the loop of how long the process would be including the waiting time.
