Pros: The room was comfortable and nicely furnished. Staff were friendly. Location is central and connected to the Skywalk, so it was really easy to go for breakfast and coffee on a weekday morning.

Cons: No cold water at the bathroom tap, although this was corrected the following day. Early morning disruption by a faulty fire alarm. Staff were not always effective at providing assistance. Lost items are managed by a third-party system. This was my biggest issue - I left behind a couple of things in a drawer, including my favorite pair of handknit socks. Not materially valuable, but sentimentally important. I called the hotel and was informed I could not speak to anyone there about my items, but could submit a form online. I filled the form and detailed exactly where I left my belongings. I received only an automated update after 3 days that I would be informed after 10 days whether an item had been matched to my report. Then, I received notice that no item had been found and the report would be closed. Since I know what I left and where I left it, I can only conclude that this hotel is not interested in reuniting me with my items, and the third-party system for reporting items is intended to distance staff from accountability for this. Ultimately, I understand I am responsible for remembering my things, and at the same time, managing lost items is a normal part of hospitality service. I will think twice about staying at any hotel that uses a third party to handle lost things, and I can't see myself staying at a Marriott property again.

My company uses the Rand Tower frequently for business travel. During a recent visit my employee lost her wallet and was unable to check in using the company card. I get the internal policies and needing to have an ID. That’s not the problem here. The problem is that the manager was rude, bigoted, and so unhelpful to a traveler, who has stayed there multiple times this last year. I ended up going in and paying for everything but the attitude was sickening. We will be taking our business elsewhere. What happened to hospitality? Is this how you would treat someone staying at your home? Kindness is everything. Not asking you to change policies, asking you for some kindness and customer service.

Beautifully classic hotel. In the heart of Downtown Minneapolis. Classic luxury aesthetic. Very friendly staff. Comfortable room. Close to lots of restaurants. The on premise bar and restaurant have a cool vibe. We didn't eat at the restaurant, however the menu items were beer appealing.

Very nice hotel! We were greeted with very nice valet service and they loaded our luggage for us!! We were here for a concert that we walked to! After the concert and coming back to our hotel we found out the handicap entrance closes at 11! Not very convenient for someone who is in a wheelchair! Very disappointing! Also, front desk could be more friendly! Otherwise, great stay!

I was very hopeful about the hotel based on Google reviews. The service left much to be desired.

1) I attempted to valet my car. My car didn't get parked for over 2 hours, and I received a parking ticket as a result. Only then did they park my car.
2) The management assured me that they would pay the ticket before I checked out in the next 2 days (they did not). I checked the status of the ticket online a week later. It still was not paid, so I paid for it.
3) We were charged an additional night of valet
4) We did the Breakfast included add-on. The place that did the breakfast (Bar Rufus) was closed
5). We were supposed to be given breakfast vouchers. They did not. I had to ask the front desk about them the following day. Otherwise we would have never gotten them.

We had a Corner King room which was quite nice and roomy. However, due to the multiple failures in service, we will not be staying here again, and cannot recommend this hotel.

One of my favorite hotels we have ever stayed at! We stayed in a corner city view room and I loved the space. Not overly large but very well laid out. Very homey and cozy feel with the decor. Amazing bedding. Shower had great water pressure and shower head is high enough for anyone on the taller side. They actually provide good toiletries, not soap glued to the wall. The staff was exceptional from the moment we checked in. Honestly quite impressed with the entire experience considering the relatively low cost for a hotel downtown. Only a 15 min walk to the baseball stadium and lots of restaurants/coffee shops near by. Highly recommend and would certainly stay here again!

Better Marriott properties are available downtown - choose the Emery, Elliot, or Westin over this property

It’s a beautiful hotel and the decor is very well done…which unfortunately, is about the end of the positives.

Our high floor King had dust on almost all flat surfaces upon check-in, the tv had no remote and does not turn on, and there’s an unfinished hole in the drywall of our room (they moved an outlet at some point and couldn’t be bothered to patch or paint it).

The Bar Rufus breakfast service is laughable for its price. A $6 latte comes from a pre-programmed machine, they have no milk alternative options in said machine or for drip coffee, at $5 (it’s really not difficult to stock some oat milk in a pitcher for drip coffee), and the sandwiches are cooked in an industrial microwave, for $12-$18. The poor waitress/bartender was completely overwhelmed with 4 tables and had no help.

Cleanliness: The hotel did resolve the cleanliness to an extent (visible dust clouds remained on the bed stands and the armour).

TV: Someone came to my room on night 1, handed me 3 remotes, and left. No testing, no query about the issue. I raised it the next morning. An engineer visited the room, looked and told me the 3 remotes don’t even match the TV in our room. It was eventually fixed, but not what I expected from the “upgraded” room I received.

Hole in wall: I was given a “

sorry about that” and nothing else. No offer to rectify or ask if I’d like to relocate rooms.

This hotel looks gorgeous. The bed is comfortable. That’s it. Everything else is not worthy of this hotels price point or brand. Stay at the other properties I listed above. You’ll be happier and more comfortable for it.
